前の仕事でベルギーに駐在していた事からベルギーについての講演会の依頼があり、11月12日に弟子屈の公民館で話をさせていただきました。題目は「EUの本部はなぜベルギーにあるのか」。北海道より小さな国なのにヨーロッパを統合するEUにおいて中心的役割を果たす一方、その国内は言語戦争と言われる民族の分断に揺れる複雑な国。限られた時間でその国の成り立ちと魅力を伝えるのは難しかったですが、約50名の方々に熱心に聞いていただきました。皆さんに少しでもベルギーに興味を持っていただき、いつの日か訪れていただけたら嬉しいです。私も話ながらまたベルギーに住みたくなりました。
As I used to live in Belgium as a representative in the previous job, I was asked to give a talk for Belgium. The talk, the title is “Why EU head office is located in Belgium?”, was held at the Teshikaga community center on the 12th of November. Although it is a smaller country than Hokkaido, it plays an important role in EU integrating European countries, but it is a complex country that is shaken by ethic division called language war. It was a bit difficult to convey the origins and attractions of the country in a limited time, but about 50 audiences listened intently. I am grad if they are interested in Belgium even in a little and they will visit there one day. As I talked, I wanted to live in Belgium again.
